Calling all Cardinals’ Fans

I’m looking for a bunch of Cardinals fans (the more the better) who are also Christians, and who would like to be part of a Cardinals group-blog.

The official Cardinals’ web site is www.stlcardinals.com.

I own the domain www.stlcardinalsblog.com.

Check it out and you’ll see that I haven’t done much of anything with it at all. A few years ago, Tim Ellsworth and I talked about starting a Cardinals group-blog, and I quickly snatched up the domain. But we got busy and didn’t develop it.

I would love to find 5, 10, 15, etc. guys and gals who love Cardinals baseball and love the Lord Jesus Christ, and who would enjoy writing up 2-3 posts per month during the season.

Since we are all arm-chair baseball commentators, I know that our posts are not going to be real deep stuff. Basically, if you go to a Cards’ game or watch a game, then make a post about it. If you read something cool about a player, hear a trade rumor, meet a player at an event, have a Cards’ story from the history books, etc. - these would all be great fodder. Point being, we want to write short posts with some punch to them, the kind that you would want to read as a Cards’ fan.

The “Christian” part is simply that if we keep the posts coming regularly then we could expect a smidgen of traffic, and when that smidgen comes and sticks around for the baseball-talk, we can also throw our Christianity into the mix as well. Shouldn’t be too hard to come up with angles on that, with a lot of MLB players actively talking about their faith, including a number of Cardinals.

You can use a pseudonym or your real name. If you blog elsewhere, your own blog can be hyperlinked anytime you make a post.

The technology is easy to navigate. Everyone would get passwords and be free to post as they wish. If you jump into it but later realize you don’t have the time, no problem.

If you are interested, please let me know via email (logosATsbcglobal.net). I hope to get the group together by the start of the season. And if not this year, well then by golly we will try again next year.

Thanks,
Scott Lamb

Brother, count me in!!!!!! If I was not a Christian, my pagan god would be Cardinal baseball. I am looking forward to seeing you and hearing you at Founder’s next week. God bless.

  2. Scott Lamb Says:

Great! That makes 2 (Terry & Scott), plus a “maybe” off an email.

  3. Amy Lee Says:

Don’t think I can say “YES” loud enough. Keep me posted and I’ll do some posting. Oh yeah, watch out for that Terry D. guy - he has PCNC (Post-concussion Nut Case).

  4. Terry Delaney Says:

Kettle, this is Pot, you are black!!

  5. John Daly Says:

If you get one going for the Red Sox, then I’ll join :)

  6. Tony C Says:

I am sitting inside listening to ice pinging on my windows on this another sunless, very cold, gloomy, typical St Louis winter day in late February. I can’t think of a better way to contemplate the looming horrid, non-productive, no pitching season on the horizon for the no talent St Louis Cardinals.

I don’t really mean that I just need some sunshine! Everything looks better in the spring! (it has nothing to do with “Albert Pujols vexing right elbow”)

  7. Terry Delaney Says:

Hmm…I am thinking Tony sounds much like a Cubs fan.

John, you will be happy to know that I was at game four of the 2004 World Series. I still have my ticket stub.

  8. Scott Lamb Says:

I’ll count that as a sign-up for you Tony.

Ironically, Tim and I first thought of doing this in the Winter before the 2006 season… and what a season that would have been to cover and follow.

    Ok, so far we’ve got:
    Scott (me)
    Tony C.
    Tim E. (honorary)
    Terry D.
    Barry W. (maybe)
    Gary R.
    Amy L.
    Stephen C.

We’ll wait a few more days and see who else comes along and then get started on the set-up. Glad to have y’all aboard.

    Scott

  9. Don Hinkle Says:

ok, i’ll bite even though David DeJesus, Mark Grudzlianik, Mark Teahan, Jose Gullien, Billy Butler, Alex Gordon, Russ Gload, John Buck and Tony Pena Jr. is a better everyday lineup ..hehehehe.
