Tuesday is for Testimonies #4: Paige Patterson

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Today’s special guest is Dr. Paige Patterson, the President of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. We are sure that 99% of readers of this blog already know something about Dr. Patterson. However, you really should read his bio off of the seminary website. It contains some fascinating elements from his life. Did you know he shared Christ with Yasser Arafat? With prostitutes and homosexuals in the New Orleans French Quarter? Did you know that his lifelong interest in big-game hunting has led to speaking engagements with fathers and sons, and that these events have led to the salvation of 2,000 men in the last two years? So, we welcome Dr. Patterson to our Tuesday testimony time, and thank him for taking of his time in writing this for us.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is at it again when it comes to keeping God out of Missouri public schools. This time the targets are the Gideons and the South Iron R-1 School District in Annapolis.
For years the school district has allowed groups like the Red Cross and the Boy Scouts to have access […]

Phillip Yancey interview with GLBT magazine

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Not that I have ever been awash in admiration for Phillip Yancy, but an archived interview he conducted with GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender) online magazine Whosoever is in my opinion, nothing more than capitulating gibberish.
Where’s the offense of the gospel of Christ? I am not advocating a Fred Phelps style of offending for the […]

Illinois needs a new governor!

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

Governor Blagojevich of Illinois needs to be replaced. With job approval ratings sagging, Blagojevich continues to embrace a pro-homosexual, pro-abortion, pro-cloning agenda. His latest outrageous act was to sign an executive order that directs $5 million of Illinois taxpayer money from the 2007 budget to fund research that including embryonic stem cells, or cloning. Public […]

Anti-cloning booklets available

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

The Missouri Roundtable for Life, a pro-life organization for which I am honored to serve on its board of directors, have produced an easy to read booklet that examines Amendment 2, the clone-to-kill ballot initiative that citizens will vote on Nov. 7. It breaks down the amendment almost sentence by sentence, exposing its deceptive language. […]

-J.B. Gambrell from article entitled “Baptist Rights”, quoted in Why I am a Baptist by Nettles and Moore p. 9.

Foster children and homosexuals

Monday, September 11th, 2006

There is new evidence to think about for people who push for homosexuals to be allowed to serve as foster parents. A recent study by the Family Research Institute shows that 35 percent of foster parents who sexually abused their foster children in the last three years engaged in homosexuality. From 2003 through 2005, one-third […]
