Cloning Lobby Sees Dollar Signs

The clone-to-kill lobby is as interested in money as it is in cloning. Now comes word that certain Missouri lawmakers do not want to touch the $38 million the state has stored away from a lawsuit settlement between the states and tobacco companies. It seems some lawmakers do not want the $38 million touched until after they see if the clone-to-kill’s ballot initiative, that amends the state constitution to protect embryonic stem cell research, or cloning, is passed by voters. But rather than hand the $38 million over to the cloners and their speculative research that shows no promise of curing any disease, why don’t lawmakers earmark it for more promising adult stem cell research, which does not destroy life? Call your state legislator and tell them you want them to invest in adult stem cells, not cloning.
